The Graduate Program in Plant Biology at the Universidade Federal de Uberlândia — BioVeg/UFU — has Plant Biology as its area of concentration and offers Academic Master’s and Doctoral degrees.

The Program is dedicated to training highly qualified master’s and doctoral graduates, researchers, and higher education professionals for activities in teaching, research, and extension in Plant Biology. Its academic and scientific activities focus on understanding plant biodiversity, with an emphasis on the study of patterns and processes related to plants.

Research activities at BioVeg are organized into two research lines: Patterns in Plant Biology and Processes in Plant Biology. These lines include studies on diversity, morphology, anatomy, systematics, evolution, distribution, functioning, establishment, reproduction, and interactions of plants.

BioVeg contributes to academic and scientific training in Biodiversity, integrating diverse approaches in Plant Biology and strengthening research on regional, national, and international flora. Its activities involve faculty members, students, and collaborators in research projects, courses, academic supervision, scientific production, extension activities, and interinstitutional partnerships.

The Academic Master’s degree began its activities in 2010, consolidating the Program’s role in training human resources in Plant Biology. The Academic Doctoral degree was authorized by CONSUN Resolution No. 38/2022, expanding the Program’s training capacity and strengthening its contribution to scientific research and graduate education in the field.
